Hatchet...Living a Book

The children will become embroiled in the a story of survival against the odds as they first begin the story of one child's stuggle through two mornings of literacy in the classoom. Thinking about characterisation, thoughts, feelings and emotions, the children slowly begin to prepare to live out Brian's experience.
Through a mixture of role play, reflection, discussion and listening as the drama unfolds, children prepare for and ultimately spend a night in the woods... where nothing can be taken for granted.
